Situated on Canada's North Channel, Cutler, Ontario, has plenty of outdoor recreation available for travelers. The channel and its bays provide ample opportunity for water sports and fishing, and there are multiple hiking trails in the area, including The Cup and Saucer Trail, only 20 minutes inland, which runs four miles long and takes hikers up to a 250-foot cliff where the visibility stretches on for 35 miles. While there are no motels directly in Cutler, there are a few just east on Highway 17, all within 30 kilometers.

Huron Sands Motel

The closest motel to Cutler, Ontario, is the Huron Sands, which is only five minutes outside of town in Providence Bay. Still run by the same family that opened the hotel in 1967, the Huron Sands Motel features simple, clean rooms and a few on-site amenities such as a corner store with groceries and sundries and a small post office. Freezer space is available for any fish caught by guests during their stay, and pets are welcome.

Alta Vista

Right outside the town of Espanola, the Alta Vista motel provides basic accommodations for guests in the coastal region of the North Channel. All guest rooms include cable televisions, Internet data ports, microwaves and refrigerators. While there are no on-site restaurants, there are several near the motel, including Jeremy's Restaurant, Tim Hortons and McDonald's.

Massey Motel

Located in the nearby town of Massey, the Massey Motel provides simple lodging within walking distance of Chutes Provincial Park, a public recreation area that encompasses fishing and picnic spots as well as numerous waterfalls. Restaurants near the Massey Motel include: The Dragonfly, which is located right next door and features Canadian and European cuisine; The Crock Restaurant; and The Pinegrove restaurant.

Guest rooms at the Massey feature queen beds, cable television with movie networks and in-room VCRs, kitchenettes and high-speed Internet access. VHS movies are available to borrow at the front desk.
