Dripping or Stuffy Nose
Allergies often rear their ugly head by making your nose run or stuffing it up. Both conditions are uncomfortable and can make you feel sick. If you're outdoors, anything can be causing the allergic reaction, from a blooming plant to changes in the barometric pressure.
Headache
Headaches can sometimes be the first sign that you're about to be affected by nasal allergies. You'll generally feel the pain in the sinus areas of your face or around your eyes; some sufferers say they can feel pain in their teeth and jaws. It's best to take allergy medication at the first sign of the headache to ward off symptoms.
Sore Throat
If your sinuses are draining, the mucus will generally run down the back of your throat and can cause it to be raw and sore. You may find yourself clearing your throat often or coughing to get the mucus out. When the drainage stops, the sore throat will stop too.
Sneezing
Sneezing is your body's way of trying to rid itself of the toxins it's being forced to breathe in. A running or stuffed-up nose usually follows. As with the other signs of an allergy attack, it's best to take allergy medication as soon as possible. The longer you leave the symptoms untreated, the longer it will take for the medication to work.
