Days Inn/University Area Charlottesville

The Days Inn/University Area Charlottesville charges $20 per animal per night, plus tax, but you are only allowed to stay in a smoking room with your pet. This hotel is centrally located on Emmet Street, just minutes away from destinations like the University of Virginia, Monticello and Michie Tavern. The Days Inn also offers an on-site fitness facility, as well as a Gold's Gym nearby. Tell the front desk you will bring an animal when you call to make a reservation, or make a note of it in the "Comments to be Sent to Hotel" part of its online booking site.

Doubletree Hotel

Overlooking the Rivanna River, the Doubletree Hotel is home to Charlottesville's conference center, a few miles north of the University of Virginia campus and convenient to shopping, restaurants and the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport. For a flat fee of $25 you can bring your pets along, and from this location you can branch out and explore the nearby Appalachian Trail, golf courses, Shenandoah National Park or popular ski resorts. Econo Lodge University Arena

For travelers on a budget looking to experience this historical and active small city with their pets, the Econo Lodge is a good option. It allows dogs, up to two per room, for $10 a night. Prices run roughly between $60 and $80 a night, as of 2009, and for that price you'll be within a mile of the University grounds, the University Medical Center and Barracks Road Shopping Center.

Holiday Inn Charlottesville-Monticello

Located just south of Interstate 64, the Holiday Inn Charlottesville-Monticello is one of the closest hotels to the area's historical attractions, like Monticello and Michie Tavern, and it's still within a few miles drive to the University and the Historic Downtown Mall as well. This hotel welcomes pets for $15 a night, and it even has a pet walking area and station.

If you are a looking for a real mountain escape where you can bring your pets and enjoy the great outdoors close to Charlottesville, Montfair Resort Farm is an excellent option.
