Paducah, Kentucky, lies just to the south of Shawnee National Forest and less than 30 miles from the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. From hiking trails to water sports, there are plenty of activities in the area for outdoorsy families. With numerous decent hotel options for families, Paducah is a good central base for exploring both Shawnee National Forest and Land Between the Lakes.
