El Malecon Restaurant
Take the A train uptown to Washington Heights for some of the city's best Dominican Food. Offering quick service, delicious eats and low prices, El Malecon has been a city favorite since it opened in 1987. Offering both buffet and menu options, El Malecon specializes in traditional dishes such as rotisserie chicken with rice and red or black beans, fried and mashed plantains with a dash of salt or ketchup, cassava with red onion and, of course, a cold El Presidente, a Dominican beer. The restaurant space here is one large, clean, open boisterous room where sassy servers encourage you to eat more. Families are welcome and casual dress is preferred. Credit cards are accepted but reservations are not. El Malecon offers take-out and delivery as well.

Mee Noodle Shop
Escape the frenetic pace of midtown and a grab a table at the popular Mee Noodle Shop. Located in the Hell's Kitchen section of midtown, the Mee Noodle Shop is well-known in the neighborhood for its inexpensive meals, especially during lunch. Slight on fancy décor, this busy eatery more than makes up for it with hearty servings of classic Chinese dishes such as won ton soup, noodles with steamed dumplings, scallion pancakes, chicken chow mein, steamed flounder with ginger sauce and moo shu vegetables over brown rice. Guests can dress casually and expect the typical New York City restaurant scenario of tables sitting right on top of each other. Everyone will know your business, but the good news is that no one will care. Credit cards and reservations are accepted and delivery and take-out available as well.
