Moshulu
The romance of the high seas is evoked at this grand tall ship converted into a fine dining restaurant. Permanently at dock on the Delaware River at Penn's Landing, Moshulu's heyday as a trading ship is far behind, but its rank as a fine restaurant has gained it AAA four-diamond rating. Guests dine under the stars on the outdoor deck, or they can request a quiet table inside or join the Captain's table under the skylight with a view of the lighted masts. The cuisine is American, influenced by the South Seas. The menu includes a Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Tartare appetizer, a duck breast with Asian vegetables entrée, vegetarian selections, farm fresh side dishes and decadent desserts.

"Philadelphia" magazine, the "Philadelphia Inquirer" and "Philadelphia Weekly" all have noted the romantic atmosphere, intimate conversations and upstairs bar that are the hallmarks of this small restaurant. The draped fabric ceiling, soft lighting and 80-gallon tropical fish aquarium in the Tank Bar set the mood for amore. Appetizers include soup made of mushrooms harvested at nearby Kennett Square, stock, cream and cognac. Couples can choose small plates or full entrees for their main course. Guests finish with an indulgent dessert, baked on premises by the resident pastry chef.

The Victor Café
Music is the language of love when the professionally trained musicians who are the wait staff break into song. Arias, soliloquies and an occasional snippet of poetry punctuate your servers' recitation of the evening specials. Victor's was the location used in the Sylvester Stallone movie "Rocky Balboa," depicting a restaurant the title character named for his beloved wife Adrian. The menu is decidedly Italian, featuring antipasti, pastas, pesci, carne and rich Italian desserts.
