As of 2009, a flat rate of $89 plus tax applies to all rooms with two double beds or a king bed. However, La Quinta rates fluctuate often, according to David. Furthermore, all La Quinta rooms in North Canton were renovated in 2009 to include a 42-inch flat screen television, microwave, refrigerator, hairdryer, and free wireless Internet, David said. The opening of an indoor pool is scheduled for the beginning of 2010. The hotel also provides a free breakfast and newspaper. Guests can also take advantage of the nearby Bally's Total Fitness for free.

Canton Red Roof Inn
One well-behaved pet is allowed per room free of charge at the Red Roof Inn. Guests must notify the front desk that a pet is present upon check-in. Pets must never be left unattended in a room and must always be on a leash when outside the hotel. Owners must clean up after their pets. Rates at the pet-friendly Red Roof Inn depend on the number of people staying in a room. Rates increase over weekends and when events, such as dart tournaments and dog shows, are held in the area, said Suzette, a guest service representative. Children under 17 stay free if in the same room as an adult family member. Red Roof Inn has been renovating its hotels nationwide and rooms at the North Canton inn include a granite sink, easy chair and modern furniture. Rooms also have microwaves and refrigerators. "The biggest thing for us is our location," Suzette said. Downtown Canton is close and many restaurants, theaters and shopping centers are in the area, she said. The hotel also offers a free newspaper and free gourmet coffee 24 hours a day. Daily fees may apply for wireless Internet use.

Motel 6 Canton
This Motel 6 is known for great service. The rooms are very basic but are kept very clean, said Keelan, a guest service representative. She has received many comments about how pleasant the staff is, she said. Motel 6 allows one well-behaved pet per room, which must be declared upon check-in. Service pets are always allowed. There is no fee for bringing a pet. The pet must never be left unattended in a room or in a car in the motel parking lot. If an animal is found unattended in a room, the room will not be cleaned. "Motel 6 charges per adult, not number of beds or room size. That's one thing we do that nobody else does," Keelan said. Kids stay free at the North Canton location. The average rate is $44, but rates depend on the season, time of month and whether an event is being held in the area. Motel 6 offers an outdoor pool and free coffee in the morning. Wi-Fi is accessible in certain rooms for $2.99 per 24 hour period.

Gaining access to myriads of entertaining and helpful places is easy. Take a load off at the Hoover Community Recreation Complex and experience nature through hiking or biking on the wooded trails of the park. The trail connects to Washington Square Shopping Plaza were visitors can relax or grab a bite to eat. Also nearby is Price Park, an 18.5-acre sea of green, which boasts a one-mile walking path, fishing pond, tennis courts and more.
