Hotels at Cedar Point, Ohio
Originally built as a beach resort in 1870, Cedar Point is now a 364-acre amusement park that overlooks Lake Erie. For more than 100 years, Cedar Point has excited visitors with its innovative thrill rides, hair-raising roller coasters and fun water parks. In 2008, the park was even voted the best amusement park in the world by Amusement Today. For outdoor enthusiasts, the town of Sandusky, Ohio, also offers two wildlife areas for hiking and bird watching.

Hotel Breakers

Constructed in 1905, Hotel Breakers is the closest hotel to Cedar Point, just a two-minute walk to the park. Since the hotel is part of Cedar Park Resorts, guests receive special benefits, such as admission discounts and early entry for certain rides. Amenities at the hotel include three swimming pools, three whirlpool spas, complimentary Wi-Fi and access to the beach. Hotel Breakers also has two sit-down restaurants---a T.G.I. Fridays and a hibachi grill-style restaurant.

Lighthouse Point

Lighthouse Point is another Cedar Point Resort located within walking distance to the amusement park. Featuring cozy cabins and waterfront views, Lighthouse Point gives off a rustic ambiance for its guests. Both the cabins and cottages come equipped with a barbecue grill, microwave, mini-fridge and television. Guests are also welcome to take a dip in the outdoor pool or to play a game of shuffleboard.

Great Wolf Lodge

Although Cedar Point is only a short drive away, you may have a hard time prying your family from the Great Wolf Lodge's own indoor waterpark. With more than 40,000 feet of space, the lodge's park has tube slides, body slides, a 25-foot climbing wall and even an interactive treehouse. This hotel caters specifically to families, and some rooms come with in-suite play areas. Dining options at the lodge are kid-friendly, too, including an American-style grill, a breakfast buffet and a bakery.

Camp Sandusky

A Cedar Point vacation can get expensive with travel costs, food and admission tickets. To save money, you can stay at Camp Sandusky---a campsite about six miles from Cedar Point. Guests of Camp Sandusky have the option of booking a quaint cabin or setting up their own tent. RVs are also welcome. The site also provides a pool, game room, playground and a bunny petting farm for kids.
