Colorado City, Colorado, is a hiker's paradise. The hiking routes of Bartlett, Camp Crockett and the San Carlos trails are easily accessed from Colorado City. The nearby Hardscrabble Canyon and Lake Isabel also have numerous hiking and biking trails. Colorado City's Lake Beckworth Recreation Area is popular for bicycling and jogging, and is renown by birdwatchers for its large variety of passerines. If you want to spend the day on a scenic drive, you can start on the Frontier Pathway Scenic Byway from Colorado City and travel along the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. When you're finished, stay in one of these area hotels.
