Mandarin Court
Found on Chinatown's busiest street, Mandarin Court is known for dim sum, fresh spring rolls and steady stream of patrons. With fresh dumplings (served with traditional sauces), vegetables and a variety of great desserts (green tea ice cream is popular), Mandarin Court is a favorite amongst tourists and locals alike. While Mandarin Court isn't fancy (Chinese paintings are sparsely dispersed around the restaurant), it does offer great tasting, affordable food (expect to spend $7 to $16 per entrée) just steps from the hustle and bustle in the heart of Chinatown.

Doyers Vietnamese Restaurant
Chinatown isn't just for Chinese cuisine anymore. Some of New York's best places for Vietnamese food are located just outside of the heart of Chinatown. Located underground on historic Doyers Street, visitors must embark on a treasure hunt to find this gem of a restaurant. While the décor is dated (the walls are covered in wood paneling and 1980s wallpaper), Doyers Vietnamese Restaurant features crisp salads complimented by fresh meats and seafood, grilled vegetables and meats served on top of handmade noodles, and a variety of sauces that range from sweet to tangy to fiery. With prices ranging from $6 to $20, patrons are sure to find something on the menu to tantalize the taste buds.
