Haunted Hotels in Kentucky
Kentucky is known as the Bluegrass State due to the color its grass gets from the highly fertile soil. As a prominent southern state, Kentucky is no stranger to out of town guests. However, some of its hotels have sightings of unwanted guests. In fact, quite a few hotels in Kentucky have stories involving ghosts and hauntings. Encounters ranging from flying silverware to strange noises have been reported up and down the state.

Seelbach Hilton

The Seelbach Hilton is located in downtown Louisville. This 4-diamond hotel was built in 1905 and in 2009 underwent a $12 million renovation. Some guests over the years have reported seeing a young woman roaming around who is almost always accompanied by a unique perfume. Legend says that in 1907, lovers were to be married here but the husband to be met an untimely death on his way to the wedding. The girl was so distraught, that she threw herself down the elevator shaft and fell ten stories to her death.

Boone Tavern Hotel

The Boone Tavern Hotel is located in a college town by the name of Berea. It is named after a famous Kentucky explorer by the name of Daniel Boone. This hotel has been operating for a hundred years as of 2009. A few guests here have reported strange occurrences while staying here. Some have heard voices coming from the lower rooms of the property. Others have had a young African American boy appear in photographs. In most cases the boy appeared to be frightened.

Paintsville Ramada Inn

The Paintsville Ramada Inn is located right off of route 23, which is known as the "Country Music Highway." It is styled after a traditional New Orleans lodging. It can accommodate over 600 people and is within walking distance to downtown. The haunting here apparently occurs on a daily basis. Employees have claimed that frying pans come off the walls towards random people in the kitchen. Also, a woman in high heels can be heard nightly in the atrium. Also, people feel odd sensations like being watched while in the banquet room.
