Hotels in Mt. Princeton, Colorado
Mount Princeton, part of Colorado's Collegiate Peaks, rises 14,197 feet above sea level and is a popular destination for hikers and peak baggers interested in adding another fourteener to their list. Colorado has 54 peaks with elevations above 14,000 feet, 10 in the Collegiate Peaks area. Other attractions in the area are the mining ghost town of St. Elmo, and the hot springs along Chalk Creek at Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort. The tiny town of Nathrop is the nearest community; it consists primarily of a post office.

Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort

This 100-room lodge on the banks of Chalk Creek features 24-hour access to the hot springs. Guests have a choice of cliffside, poolside or lodge rooms, each with two queen beds. Cliffside rooms have back decks with views of the surrounding mountains. Poolside rooms are convenient to the family pool. Lodge rooms are convenient to the on-site spa and the Princeton Club restaurant.

The hotel was completely remodeled in 2004, and 10 log cabins were added along the creek, which are available for rent. The cabins feature kitchenettes and sleep up to eight people. Cabins have a king-size bed downstairs and two queen beds in the upstairs sleeping loft.

Recreation

Guests at the resort have access to three hot-springs fed pools, as well as numerous smaller natural hot springs pools along the river. Numerous hiking trails are within a three-mile radius of the resort, including the Colorado Trails and trails to the summits of Mount Princeton and Mount Antero. In winter, many of these trails are open for cross-country skiing.

Details

In 2009, rates at the hotel ranged from $75 to $400 a night.
