Phoenix offers outdoor enthusiasts a score of things to do while visiting Sun Valley. Known as the Seven Summits--South Mountain, Camelback Mountain, Shaw Butte, Piestewa Peak, Lookout Mountain, Shadow Mountain and North Mountain--the area gives hikers quite a variety to choose from. The area also offers biking trails and camping and backpacking facilities.

The Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix

Guests can choose from a variety of room types. The deluxe guest and deluxe mountain view guest rooms are both 372 square feet in size, consist of two double or king feather beds, marble and granite baths, plush terry cloth bath robes and three telephones throughout the rooms. An overnight complimentary shoe shine and receipt of a daily newspaper is included. The Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix also offers three types of suites--executive, esplanade and presidential. There are 12 executive suites at 734 square feet, 10 of which are graced with views of Camelback Mountain and Piestewa Peak. All suites have one king-size featherbed, and none come with two beds. The presidential suite is 1,860 square feet, with a lovely mountain view. It contains a jetted bathtub, additional half bath, private walk-in shower and a pantry kitchen with microwave and refrigerator. The presidential suite also has a separate dining and living room, double master closets, separate parlor entrance and a baby grand piano.

Arizona Biltmore

The rich history of the Arizona Biltmore hotel is found throughout this 1929 beauty. Regarded as "The Jewel of the Desert," this hotel is an architectural masterpiece. It offers guests a range of accommodations styles, from classic rooms, resort styles, premier and Ocatilla Club guest rooms. Classic-style rooms are 400 square feet and are located throughout the facility, including the Garden wing and the main building. Located throughout various areas of the hotel, including the Cottage area, resort rooms are 400 to 500 square feet and showcase a balcony or patio. These rooms contain two queen beds or one king bed. Premier rooms are 500 to 600 square feet, with several options guests can choose from. This room type offers a mountain, garden or pool view and the option of one king bed or two queen-size beds. Ocatilla Club executive suite style rooms are also available.

JW Marriott Desert Ridge Phoenix Resort

This hotel has 950 guests rooms and suites, with five styles to choose from. Some 869 of the 950 guest rooms are deluxe style. These rooms are 448 square feet and offer guests a patio or balcony and king or two double beds. The 38 executive suites are 869 square feet and possess a parlor and foyer entrance, elegant bathroom, elevated king-size bed and an elective sleeper sofa. Luxury suites are 896 square feet and include a dining area, wet bar, separate pantry entrance, conference table and furnished terrace. Hospitality suites, of which there are four, offer guests 1,344 square feet of space, which includes a formal dining area, over-sized bathroom and sitting game table.
