Bus Trips to Atlantic City from Harrisburg

Bus Trips to Atlantic City from Harrisburg
Atlantic City has a great blend of indoor and outdoor entertainment, from busy casinos that are the mainstay of its bustling nightlife to beautiful beaches that feature daytime sunbathing, hikes along the world-famous boardwalk, and sailing and other water sports off the city's several piers. For those who prefer cultural activities, there's an aquarium and several museums. At night, the boardwalk and downtown area features upscale shopping, top-flight entertainment, and gourmet restaurants. Anyone who lives in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, area and wants to travel by bus to visit this tourist mecca has several good options from which to choose.

Wolf's Bus Lines

For $50 round trip from the Harrisburg area, Wolf's will bring you to the Tropicana Resort for eight hours of fun in Atlantic City. Travelers 21 years of age and older receive a complimentary casino coin bonus with which to gamble. Those under 21 will be dropped off at the outlet mall a block west of Caesar's Palace. Wolf's also features an overnight excursion 4 times a year that takes you to Bally's Claridge Tower Casino for $154 and includes a $10 slot bonus.

Bieber Trailways

Bieber makes the Atlantic City run every Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, leaving its Harrisburg terminal at 7:30 in the morning and arriving in Atlantic City's Tropicana Casino around 11:30. The trip costs $30 round trip, and the bus returns from Atlantic City at 6:30 the same evening. For those wishing to stay overnight, Bieber offers a return trip for parties of 20 or more people. Groups of less than 20 people staying overnight will need to catch another bus, such as a Greyhound, for the return trip to Harrisburg. For more information, call (717) 565-4900.

Greyhound

Greyhound, of course, as the bus line that runs routes nationwide, has a Harrisburg to Atlantic City route. It leaves four to five times daily, depending on the day of the week, and online fares are under $50, one way. If you buy your ticket at the gate, a non-refundable ticket costs $57 and a refundable ticket costs $65. Visit the Greyhound website for more information, as their times and fares vary depending on day of the week and whether or not you qualify for one of their many discounts (see References).

Conestoga Bus Tours

If it's more convenient to leave from Lancaster, Conestoga Bus Tours also runs tour buses to Atlantic City every Saturday. The fare is $40, and they go to Bally's for the day. Departure times vary depending on time of year. They also have occasional overnight trips to various casinos for fares in the $150 range, also varying depending on time of year. For more information, call (717) 569-1111.
