Restaurants in Brighton Beach, New York

Because the Brighton Beach area of Brooklyn became the home of many Russian immigrants and has been called "Little Odessa," it's not surprising that many of its most popular restaurants serve dishes based on Russian cuisine. Its proximity to the oceanfront, seafood and fish figure also heavily in most menu offerings.

Café Glechik

Serving traditional homemade Russian and Ukranian food, Café Glechik considers itself to be family-oriented. Among the traditional menu offerings are borsch dishes, salad "Odessa," vareniki with sour cherries, Ukranian-style sausages and pickled vegetables. Primorski Restaurant

Boasting more than 150 a la carte menu items, Primorski Restaurant calls itself both a Georgian and a Russian restaurant. Some of its more unique specialties include boiled sturgeon, eel salad, eggplant rolled in walnuts and Georgian dumplings. It also serves a special banquet dinner on weekend evenings; it includes appetizers, hot dishes, drinks and dessert.

Ocean View Café

With a menu based on Russian cuisine, the Ocean View Café features an extensive and varied menu, everything from smoked fish to eggplant caviar to blintzes. When the weather is right, you can ask for outdoor seating and revel in the view offered at the Tatiana Restaurant and Nightclub.
