Located in the San Bernardino Mountains, Big Bear, California is a year-round resort region. Southern California's largest recreational length, Big Bear measures about 7 miles long and 2.5 miles wide. Holiday Haven Cabins

This set of eight cozy cabins nestled in the pine trees of Boulder Bay is off the main section of Big Bear Lake. It's less than a minute from the lake and the general store, and just a short drive from the village, marina and ski resort. Most cabins sleep four to five guests, and contain a pullout sofa and kitchenette. Some cabins are pet-friendly. Nearby activities include water sports, fishing, water skiing, hiking and snowboarding or snow skiing in the winter. This is a clean and comfy location close to everything Big Bear has to offer.

Bay Meadows Resort

A newly restored boutique-style lodge, the Bay Meadows Resort is within walking distance of the water. All rooms offer lake views. The hotel has a recreation area and is within walking distance of City Hall and the Performing Arts Center. Skiing, marinas and Big Bear Village are all nearby. There are 10 upscale cottages and 6 remodeled units with rustic décor. All cabins offer full kitchen, high-definition flat-screen television, DVD player and alarm clock with MP3 line.

Northwoods Resort

A luxury mountain resort located just three blocks from the lake and less than 3 miles from Snow Summit and Bear Mountain, the Northwoods Resort is a hunting lodge-style hotel with 147 guest rooms and suites. Standard rooms offer 350 square feet of space, individually controlled air conditioning, balconies, wireless Internet access, television with pay-per-view movies and Nintendo games.
