Yellow Bus Tours of Yellowstone Park

Yellow Bus Tours of Yellowstone Park
Yellowstone National Park is the first such park ever established anywhere in the world, set aside for the nation by Theodore Roosevelt in 1872. Home to some of the most stunning landscapes and natural features in the world, the park is a mecca for hikers, campers, fishermen and anyone who enjoys getting out into a natural setting. Yellowstone National Parks Lodges, which operates nine properties in the park, offers Historic Yellow Bus Tours that begin at all nine of its properties. The tours last anywhere from an hour to a day and give participants the opportunity to get acquainted with the park's history, natural wonders and wildlife. Passengers can choose from five tours.

Circle of Fire Tour

The Yellow Bus follows a route inside the rim of the caldera of the Yellowstone volcano, moving from the Upper Geyser Basin to the Lower Geyser Basin to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River to Gibbon Falls and, finally, to Yellowstone Lake. This tour gives participants a good overview of prominent features of one of the most active geothermal areas on Earth.

Yellowstone in a Day Tour

This tour begins at Mammoth Hot Springs and takes passengers to some of the most popular spots in the park, including Old Faithful, Yellowstone Lake and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

Firehole Basin Adventure Tour

This three-hour tour of the area surrounding Old Faithful Geyser includes a guided walking tour of the geo-thermal features. Called the Upper Geyser Basin, this part of the park is home to nearly a quarter of the geysers in the world. Tourists can see mud pots, hot springs, spouting geysers and pools of vividly colored water on the tour.

Teton Vista Tour

The bus begins the full-day tour at Fishing Bridge, goes to the Lake Hotel, Bridge Bay, Old Faithful Inn and Grant Village. This tour investigates the southern part of the park and takes participants into Grand Teton National Park, which adjoins Yellowstone on its southern border.

Historic Sunset Tour

Passengers on this tour get to experience the added treat of riding in a restored 1937 touring bus. The tour follows parts of the shoreline of Yellowstone Lake and Lake Butte, where participants can enjoy some of the most spectacular views the park has to offer.
