Williams, Arizona Hotels
Legendary mountain man Bill Williams may have visited Arizona only once in 1837, yet a mountain, river and the town of Williams now bear his name. Nestled on the Mogollon Rim in the 1.6 million acre Kaibab National Forest, Williams features hundreds of miles of hiking and cycling trails, excellent fishing and downhill and cross-country skiing. Williams hotels, on the doorstep of all this, are only an hour from the Grand Canyon.

Grand Canyon Hotel

A European-style hotel built in 1891, the Grand Canyon Hotel is both Williams' and Arizona's oldest. A block from the Grand Canyon Railroad Station, the hotel is ideal for Canyon day-trippers who choose to avoid traffic by riding the Grand Canyon Train.

Each of the two-story hotel's rooms is named according to its distinctive theme. Choose from fanciful decors including the Giraffe Room, the Bahamas Room, the Gold Room, the Nautical Room or 21 more.

The hotel has complimentary Wi-Fi, a beer and wine bar, and the Dara Thai Cafe, which serves both lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday. The Hotel is open from the end of March to December 1. Check in time is from 3 to 9 p.m., or by arrangement.

Grand Canyon Railway Hotel

Next to the Williams Railway Depot and operated by the Grand Canyon Railway, the 287-room Grand Canyon Railway Hotel captures the Western spirit of early Williams. Built to resemble the town's early depot, the hotel has an atmosphere ideal for preparing its guests to embark on their vintage train ride to the Canyon.

All rooms have two triple-sheeted queen-sized beds, cable TV, full bathrooms with both bathtubs and showers, and coffee makers with coffee. The 10 suites also have kitchenettes with mini-refrigerators, microwaves and wet bars.

The hotel's on-site Spenser's Pub serves drinks, salads, sandwiches and pizzas. The Pub's 32-foot painting "The Trip" depicts a glimpse of the train journey to the Grand Canyon. Across from the hotel in the Railway Depot is the buffet-only Grand Depot Buffet serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
