Matteo's Italian Restaurant

Matteo's Italian Restaurant is in the heart of Waikiki in Marine Surf Hotel at the corner of Seaside and Kuhio streets. The restaurant was the idea of original owner and chef Matty Jordan (born Matteo Giordano), who brought traditional Italian cuisine to Waikiki in 1970. Matteo's restaurant is a favorite among locals and visitors alike and has won multiple best restaurant awards in the Honolulu Magazine. With over 700 wines and Champagnes, and dishes like scaloppine di vitella and lasagna bolognese, Matteo's menu has something to satisfy every taste. As of 2009, entree prices start at $19.95, and the restaurant is open daily for dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Vino Italian Tapas and Wine Bar

Vino opened its doors in 2004 and quickly gained fame among Oahu's locals and visitors as a restaurant with great Italian food, an exceptional wine list and fun ambiance. In 2006, Food and Wine Magazine named Vino one of "America's 50 Most Amazing Wine Experiences." The restaurant was created by Master Sommelier Chuck Furuya and restaurateur D.K. Kodam, both of whom have passion for food and wine. Vino's drink menu has more than 60 wines sold by the bottle and over a dozen sold by the glass. Combining wine selections with dishes like veal osso buco and house-made three cheese gnocchi makes for a memorable Italian dining experience. As of 2009, entree prices range between $8 and $22, and the restaurant is open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday.

Taormina Sicilian Cuisine

Taormina Sicilian Cuisine opened its doors in 2007 to serve Southern Sicilian cuisine in contemporary ambiance. The restaurant is in the Waikiki Beach Walk and offers indoor and outdoor seating. The cuisine at Taormina is inspired by the authentic flavors of the seaside Sicilian village after which the restaurant is named. Chef Yoshifumi Shibata combines house-made pastas with fresh seafood and meats. And with more than 125 wines to choose from, Taormina's menu is sure to satisfy every taste. Entree prices range from $14 to $45, as of 2009, and the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
