Letchworth State Park Bed & Breakfasts

Known as the "Grand Canyon of the East, " the 14,000 acre Letchworth State Park is located along the Genesee River in Northwestern New York. The park's main attraction is a 17-mile gorge, 600 feet deep in some places, with three major waterfalls and several rapids surrounded by dense forests. The dramatic scenery makes balloon and plane rides over the park a popular activity. Summer activities include hiking the 66 miles of trails, whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and fishing. In the wintertime visitors can enjoy snow tubing, ice skating and cross-country skiing. Accommodations include one bed and breakfast inn located on the park grounds, and several bed & breakfasts in nearby towns and villages.

Glen Iris Inn

The former country estate of William Pryor Letchworth, the Glen Iris Inn bed and breakfast is located within the Letchworth State Park on the edge of the Genesee River gorge overlooking the Middle Falls. Built in 1828 and renovated several times since then, the historic Inn has 16 guests rooms, a library, two dining/meeting rooms and four guest cottages. A few of the guest rooms and cottages have fireplaces and private balconies. The Inn has a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Hillside Inn

Built near a mineral spring in 1851, the historic Hillside Inn bed and breakfast was originally a health spa. The historic Inn is a classic revival mansion on 30 acres of woods and gardens and at one time hosted famous visitors such as John Muir, the Roosevelts, and Susan B. Anthony and was a popular meeting place for intellectuals, artists, writers and naturalists. The Inn has 10 guest rooms, some with private baths, balconies and fireplaces, a fine dining restaurant, a casual dining restaurant and pub, meeting spaces and a large historic meeting house for events. Hillside Inn is only a few minutes from Letchworth State Park, and less than an hour from Niagara Falls, Buffalo, NY and Rochester, NY.

Just a Plane Bed & Breakfast

Minutes from Letchworth State Park and Houghton College is the Just a Plane Bed & Breakfast. A small country style inn, Just a Plane Bed & Breakfast has four rooms, two with private baths and two with twin beds and an adjoining bath. Each morning guests can enjoy a complimentary country breakfast in the sun room and for a fee, the proprietor will roll his classic piper airplane out of the barn behind the inn and fly guests over Letchworth State Park.
