Lake Placid, Fla., is a picturesque town with beautiful scenery and a small-town feel. It offers shopping, dining and 43 murals throughout. Viewing the town of murals is a great way to spend an afternoon for free, and there is plenty of parking available. This location is a great place for a quiet vacation while enjoying the lake, outdoors and wildlife.

This hotel has a private beach on the lake with a dock and 10 boat plug-ins. Breakfast is not available on site, but it is available for guests at a neighboring property. Concierge service also is available on site. Rooms are equipped with steel appliances and plasma TVs. Kitchens are fully equipped, including waffle makers and granite counters. This is a very small hotel with just 13 rooms, so book your reservations as soon as possible. Pets are allowed, and front desk hours are limited, so call to check times. There are a lot of attractions nearby, including airboat rides, Hammock State Park and many antique shops. Additionally, a golf course and fishing are nearby.

Dales Lakeside Resort

Dales Lakeside Resort sits right on the beach, where a traveler can swim, water ski, fish or relax. The resort has gas grills and charcoal grills, as well as airboat tours and guided fishing tours. This location can be used for family get-togethers, weddings and personal or professional parties. There is one two-bedroom available that has a full bath and kitchen and can sleep six people. There are four one-bedrooms available that also have full baths and kitchens, but they sleep only four.
