Amsterdam Family Hotels

Amsterdam Family Hotels
Amsterdam is an old city that dates back to the 12th century and is often associated with its wild nightlife. But, for some, Amsterdam holds enough wonder and beauty that it quickly becomes a favorite vacation spot for the whole family. Things that are unique to Amsterdam, such as its well preserved city center, canals and architecture often arouse curiosity and wonder in children, and with all there is to explore, it is perfect for such outings. Amsterdam has been accommodating families for years in some of their best and most beautiful hotels. For more outdoors family activities, Amsterdam is home to golf courses, bowling, bike trails, football fields and a whole array of water sports.

Banks Mansion

A super luxury hotel located on the Herengracht Canal, this magnificent 51-bedroom hotel was crafted with an eye to classic Amsterdam style. This area of the canal has been called the "Golden Bend" since the 17th century, and is still one of the area's most exclusive places. Home to great restaurants, attractions and year-round social events, the hotel is in a prime location for travelers who want to experience Amsterdam as it really is. Rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. The hotel is just 300 yards from the Flower Market, drinks, breakfast and the first 50 minutes of Internet use is all included in the room price.

Golden Tulip

A modern, middle-sized hotel built in 1996, the Golden Tulip is often associated with business travel more than family vacation, but deserves a spot on the list because it is convenient to the prime locations and transportation for families. It is situated on a quiet side street near the main shopping area of Amsterdam, and is a short walk to Amsterdam Central Station, Dam Square and has a nearby tram connection to museums and Exhibition Centre. Traveling to and from the hotel is simple and usually quick, which can be a major concern with young children. The hotel is made up of 239 newly redecorated rooms ranging from superior to Business, with rooms in business class being the best. All rooms have comfortable beds, bathrooms, air conditioning and sleep up to three. Pets are welcome at an additional charge and wireless Internet is free of charge.
