Settlers Motel

Settlers Motel boasts itself as Hanmer Springs' only five-star motel complex. The motel offers views of New Zealand's mountains and forests, complimentary breakfast delivered to your room, free high-speed Internet, hand-crafted furniture and LCD TVs and DVD players in every room. And it's just a short walk from Hanmer Springs' thermal pools, restaurants and other attractions. In 2009 rooms started at $145 a night.

Glenalvon Lodge Motel

Located adjacent to the thermal pools, Glenalvon's rooms are quiet, spacious studios with queen- or king-sized beds. The rooms also include TV and Internet access and continental breakfast delivered to your room (upon request). Pets are allowed by arrangement. Rooms began at $120 a night in 2009.
