At the west end of the Amalfi Coast, Positano, Italy has numerous nearby beaches and an amazing ocean view that encompasses Capri and Punta Licosa. For the more adventurous visitor, Positano also has Grotta la Porta, an ancient cave situated where the Amalfi Gulf meets Positano, which visitors are permitted to enter at no charge. Inland from Positano is Nocelle, a town reachable only by foot, and Mount Lattari lies to the north of the city. If you are looking for a hotel while exploring the city, there are plenty of exceptional ones from which to choose.

Albergo Miramare

Located directly on the coast, the Albergo Miramare is within walking distance of the historic downtown of Positano, as well as the main beach. The hotel features a panoramic breakfast room overlooking the sea, and guest rooms have terraces or balconies with the same view.

Guest rooms feature vaulted ceilings, antique furnishing, satellite TV and wireless Internet. Boat trips to O' Sole Mio are offered by the hotel, and there are on-site car rentals, scooter rentals and currency exchange.

Eden Roc Positano

When it comes to luxury, there is no aspect of the Eden Roc that has gone untouched. The entrance of the hotel features an arched entryway, the lobby has a marble staircase, and guest rooms include ceramic tiled floors, arched doorways and detailed ceilings. Each room also features a terrace, which looks out over the "Garden of Eden" and the Tyrrhenian Sea, and whirlpool tubs.

A free continental breakfast is provided, and dinner is available on-site at the Adamo ed Eva Restaurant, which serves traditional Mediterranean cuisine. There is an outdoor pool, a solarium that overlooks the bay, wireless Internet, a gym and a personal tour guide available for guests.

Hotel Poseidon

Nestled into the mountainside, the Hotel Poseidon has a direct view of the village of Positano and the Amalfi coastline. There are 51 rooms, some of which offer a private terrace with a side view of the sea and some of which overlook the Hotel Poseidon garden or Positano.

The on-site restaurant serves up local fare such as pasta, fish and vegetables in their dining room and, during warm months, on the panoramic terrace. There is a bar, an outdoor pool, fitness center and spa, and guests of the hotel are permitted access to One Fire Beach, a private beach community, and have access to scuba diving and water skiing equipment and ocean guides.
