Hotels in Traisental, Austria

The Traisental (Traisen Valley) region in lower Austria is a renowned wine producer. The region is named after the River Traisen that cuts through these lowlands. Traisental is a wonderful area for bikers, hikers and wine connoisseurs of course. A new network of biking routes was recently completed and offers over 70 miles of paths that lead to a various vineyards and quaint towns. There are several hotels for those visiting the area.

The Zöchbauer Hotel Garni is ideally situated in the lowlands of Traisental and surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills yet is only a short drive from the Austrian capital, Vienna. The hotel offers simple but cozy single-, double- and triple-occupancy rooms, most of which feature a balcony and free Internet. Every stay includes a breakfast buffet. Various bike routes pass nearby the hotel, making it easy to head out and explore the area.

Hotel Burger

The Hotel Burger sits directly on the famous Danube Bike Route in the Traisental. The route leads all the way to Vienna. For hikers, there is the well-known Jacobsweg (Jacob's Route) and the Dunkelsteinerwald, a forest. Tthere are plenty of opportunities to try wine as well. The hotel has spacious and charmingly furnished single- and multi-occupancy rooms that come with satellite television. The quaint and charming Gasthof (Guest Court) has been serving regional specialties since 1854, but the building has been home to various businesses since 1400.

Schloss Gutenbrunn

The Schloss Gutenbrunn (Castle Gutenbrunn) was built in the 16th century. Nestled in the heart of the quaint village of Gutenbrunn, the castle grounds include a garden and provide complete serenity. Trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding are nearby. Single- and double-occupancy castle rooms are available, as well as an apartment for up to four people.
