Nanango is a historic country town in Queensland, Australia, located about 125 miles inland from Brisbane. With a variety of town parks, picnic areas and trails in the area; recreational gold digging; and even a historic mural walk with chainsaw sculptures, you can easily spend all day outdoors in Nanango. And if you need a place to rest your head after all the excitement, there are plenty of both traditional and unique lodging options in the area.

Fitzroy Hotel

Just across from the supermarket, in downtown Nanango, sits the Fitzroy Hotel. Fifteen twin, single and double rooms are available for rent. Each value-priced room comes with kitchen facilities, shared amenities and a giant shared balcony that exits into the rooms. Downstairs, the building has a pub and restaurant, with pool tables, darts, beer garden, keno and poker machines. Breakfast, lunch and dinner services are available seven days a week.

Commercial Hotel

This Irish pub/hotel is the only one of its kind in the area. It has eight basic twin and double rooms for rent with shared amenities. The hotel itself has a kid's play area, bar and grill, lounge, balcony, beer garden and regularly scheduled live entertainment. The restaurant portion serves lunch and dinner every night of the week.

Bunyip Springs Farm Stay

Bunyip Springs is a beautiful grazing farm at the base of the Bunya Mountains and just minutes from the Maidenwell Astronomical Observatory. This farm is a great place to bring your kids, and provides a number of fun, hands-on activities, like feeding ducks and hens, milking cows, feeding and petting calves, riding horses and bush walking. Two different buildings are available for rent---a three-bedroom cottage and a two-bedroom lodge---each set among a stunning landscape. Each rental has a furnished kitchen, veranda, TV and laundry facility. They are available for both short and long term rental.

Twin Gums Caravan Park

Twin Gums is a shady park, situated among grassy fields filled with local wildlife. Cabins and motor homes are available for rent, as well as powered and non-powered spots for camping or those with their own motor homes. Both the cabin and motor home rentals come with full-kitchens, TVs, air conditioning and cheap price tags. Twin Gums also has an on-site library, barbecue area and laundry facilities.
