Orange County is a popular destination for water and mountain enthusiasts alike. The beaches along the Pacific Ocean offer some of the best surfing, swimming and sun-soaking in the area. Head to the east side of the county and you will find 28 mountain peaks and summits to climb. Some popular hiking trails throughout the county include Laurel Canyon Bommer Ridge Loop, Santiago Trail and Weir Canyon Trail Loop. Bikers can enjoy trips to the mountain trails or on the road and climbers may want to visit the Beach-Pirates Cove or Ortega Falls. However you decide to enjoy the outdoors, there is bound to be a great restaurant nearby to fill you up and keep you going.

Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse

Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse is open for dinner only. Due to the high volume of guests, reservations are recommended during weekdays and required on weekends. The menu consists of over ten different steaks all broiled over Bob Kittleman's mesquite charcoal fire pit along with a few non-steak items such as mesquite grilled chicken, Italian spaghetti and the vegetarian plate. Prices range between $8 and $50 for entrees.

Newport Beach Brewing Company

Started in 1995, the Newport Beach Brewing Company is the first brewing company to open in Newport Beach and the second in Orange County. All beer is hand-crafted using only three ingredients; barley, hops and water and has won the brewing company 2 bronze medals, 2 silver medals and one gold medal in The Great American Beer Festival world-wide competitions. The menu includes brick-oven pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, pastas, salads, sides and starters. They are located in Newport Beach about a mile north of the pier. The brewery often features a daily special such as happy hour prices all day.

The Cottage Restaurant

Located on the Pacific Coast Highway a few blocks north of Laguna Beach's main beach, the Cottage Restaurant is open seven days a week, 365 days a year. The building was built in 1917 and remained a residence for quite some time until it opened as a restaurant 35 years ago. Best known for breakfast and brunch, the Cottage Restaurant serves lunch and dinner menus as well. Some choices include: Fresh Made Pancakes, Eggs Benedict-Arnold, Spinach Lasagna and Colorado Rack of Lamb. The Cottage Restaurant also caters to private parties and banquets with seating for up to 100 guests.

Luigi's Ristorante Italiano

Located in Huntington Beach a block off the Pacific Coast Highway near the Huntington Beach Pier, Luigi's Ristorante Italiano is a classic Italian restaurant. According to reviews on yelp.com, the food portion sizes are large and the breakfast menu is delicious. Some menu items include the Calabrese Salad, Carpacio (raw fillet mignon, thin sliced, topped with capers & parmesan), Lobster Ravioli, and Salamone al Limone. The majority of the entrees are under $20 and desserts such as the Tiramusu Crepe run around $8 to $11.
