Yats on College
This noisy Cajun restaurant bustles with activity, and is as much a destination as it is a restaurant. Order from a chalkboard menu at the entrance and pay for your meal. Every item is the same price, and an extra dollar or so will get you a combo. In just minutes (often before you can even find yourself a seat), your food is delivered to your table.
The menu changes daily, but Yats serves up Louisiana cuisine, with a heavy emphasis on beans, rich flavorful sauces, and rice. Try out etouffees, gumbos and jambalayas. Portions are massive and each dish comes with two large slices of homemade bread.

Zydeco's
Located a bit farther from Kokomo than the others, Zydeco's is arguably the most famous Cajun eatery in the region. The chef serves classic south Louisiana cuisine, cajun and creole, as well as daily specials. The menu features traditional standards, such as red beans and rice, jambalaya and crawfish, mixed in with more exotic choices, such as alligator, frog legs, and various etouffee.
