William Tell Restaurant
The William Tell Restaurant is a Thornton favorite, for tourists and locals alike. The building is reminiscent of the restored, historic homes in the area, and has a large fireplace in the dining room. A cozy lounge serves wine, micro brews, and mixed drinks. The restaurant has a Swiss theme, and the menu plays off of this, with many European-inspired dishes, like fondue, venison meatloaf, weiner schnitzel, and sauer braten. This is a great place to stop in for a bite after a day of golfing at Thornton's Jack O' Lantern golf course.

Just a 4 mile drive from Thornton, is Campton, New Hampshire, home of the Country Cow Restaurant & Bar. This facility boasts a separate bar, offering cocktails, wine and a pool table. Diners will enjoy the glassed in porch, with river views. The atmosphere is casual, but classy. The specialty is prime rib, and there are some great brunch items, like Eggs Benedict.
