Pet Friendly Hotels on Block Island, Rhode Island
Block Island, Rhode Island is a small stretch of land located about 12 miles off of the coast of Rhode Island. There are 17 miles of beaches bordered by lighthouses, bluffs, winding roads and hiking paths, providing opportunities for fishing and swimming. There are two harbors, with several marinas for boating enthusiasts. There are several pet-friendly hotels in the area.

Blue Dory Inn

This Inn is as well-known for its famed Blue Dory cookies as it is for its elegant, quaint accommodations. This is a turn of the century property with Victorian decor and a prominent location at the head of Crescent Beach. It is within walking distance of dining options, as well as the ferry. All types of pets are welcome at this inn with a $25 fee, as of December 2009.

There are 11 guestrooms, all of which either have views of the ocean or the town. Amenities include in-suite bathrooms, antique decor, lush carpeting, TV, air conditioning and select rooms have a Jacuzzi.

The Island Home is a Victorian-style bed and breakfast facility located on Block Island. It is located between the Great Salt Pond and Old Harbor. This property is a short distance from the heart of Block Island, the beach and the marinas. While the Inn accepts dogs (no other types of animals are allowed), these pets are only allowed to be in certain rooms in the Carriage House. Owners may be subject to a fee of $25 and pets are forbidden in the main house.

Guestrooms are located in either the Main House or the Carriage House; these two buildings are separated by a spacious courtyard area. Each room features satellite TV and air conditioning. Carriage House rooms also have a kitchenette.

The Inn at Block Island

The Inn at Block Island has nine beautifully designed guestrooms and one cottage.It is a quaint bed and breakfast with charm, sophistication and modern amenities. This hotel is a pet-friendly property, offering designated rooms for guests with pets. As of December 2009, a $25 per day fee applies and pets are not to be left unattended in the rooms at any time during your stay. Call ahead before booking a reservation as there may be a size and weight limit.

The highlight of the Inn is the rambling, old wraparound porch. Each room features a private bathroom, satellite TV, wireless Internet access and air conditioning. There is a complimentary breakfast. Guests may rent bikes to ride along the shore.
