Indian Restaurants in Surrey, B.C.

Just north of the United States border lies Surrey, British Columbia, a city with a South Asian population of over 25 percent. Second in size only to the neighboring city of Vancouver, Surrey offers several Indian restaurants for hungry people more interested in staying close to the natural attractions and hiking trails than the metro area. Many of these establishments cluster around Surrey's "Little India" district, the province's largest Indian shopping area.

Fusion

Touted as a fusion restaurant with Bombay-trained chefs, Bombay Se literally means "from Bombay." Upgraded to a roomier location, Bombay Se made the Province Newspaper's "Top 100 Things to Do Before You Die" list. Known for its "sizzler" dishes and buffet, Bombay Se has a lounge and their look is more urban-slick than the average Indian restaurant. Open daily for dinner (closed Tuesday).

New on the Surrey scene as of 2009, Sohi's Incredible Indian Cuisine features Tandoori and East Indian dishes (such as Butter Chicken). Open for lunch and dinner daily with a 20-item buffet, Sohi's offers take-out, delivery and catering. Non-food draws are the flat screen televisions, patio and jazz music every other weekend.
