A vibrant small town surrounded by ample natural beauty, Bayfield, Wisconsin has been a favorite vacation destination for residents of the Midwest for decades. One of the northernmost cities in Wisconsin, its link with Lake Superior is distinguishes Bayfield from other vacation communities in the area. The natural splendor of the Apostle Islands National Lake Shore offers a dazzling view of Wisconsin's coast along Lake Superior. Among the 21 Apostle Islands that line the shore are ample opportunities for beach exploration, wildlife watching, hiking and fishing. In addition to the outdoor attractions the area has to offer, Bayfield is also host to the famous Apple Festival each October, drawing tens of thousands of guests for the celebration. There are many lodging options in Bayfield for vacationers, including those who want to bring their pet along.

Winfield Inn

Bayfield's Winfield Inn offers a haven for lake-bound vacationers on its waterfront property. First-floor rooms have a patio and second-floor rooms include a balcony. Standard rooms include two double beds, small refrigerators, cable TV, air conditioning and phone service. Suites are also available, and feature a full kitchen, sleeper sofa, hot tub and large balcony. The Winfield Inn is a non-smoking hotel.

Dogs are allowed at the Winfield Inn for a one-time charge of $15 per dog. Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside of the rooms and cannot be left unattended in the rooms.

Harbor's Edge Motel

The Harbor's Edge is a non-smoking motel located on Bayfield's downtown waterfront. The rooms include air conditioning, cable TV, coffeemakers, private bathrooms and housekeeping service. Among the hotel's attractions are the lush gardens that surround the building and a scenic view of Lake Superior. Wireless Internet service is available, but limited.

Harbor's Edge Motel allows pets but requires a damage deposit and charges an additional fee of $15 per night.

Wachsmuth House

Wachsmuth House is located in downtown Bayfield and provides a full-service bed and breakfast experience. Each room features a view across Lake Superior to the Apostle Islands. Most rooms have a queen bed, a private shower and a small private porch. Breakfasts each morning feature local organic products and fair trade coffee. Smoking is not allowed on the Wachsmuth House property.

According to the official web site of Wachsmuth House, "pets are welcome at no charge subject to prior approval and some limitations."
