From walking on Beale Street, to cycling the city's more than 60 miles of bike routes, Memphis has plenty for the outdoor enthusiast to do. Of course, the Mississippi River is a major attraction, with biking, hiking, kayaking and canoeing on and around Mud Island. Just upriver, the Chickasaw Bluffs trail offers eight miles of hiking along bluffs, swampland and the mighty Mississippi.

Soul Fish Cafe

Soul Fish Cafe's Midtown location puts it a short drive from Mud Island. The restaurant serves Southern and seafood favorites for lunch and dinner Monday through Sunday. Highlights include the catfish and hush puppies. The restaurant is also known for its Po Boy sandwiches, which range from catfish to barbecue pork.

Huey's Midtown

This Memphis favorite serves burgers at eight locations around the area. The Midtown Huey's is open for lunch, dinner and late nights seven days a week. In addition to Huey's wide range of burgers, the restaurant offers a full menu of American fare, including sandwiches and salads. Favorites include fried pickles and "chicken miners," which are miniature chicken sandwiches. Huey's Midtown offers live music several days a week.

Tsunami

Tsunami specializes in high-end seafood dishes for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is closed on Sundays. For lunch, Tsunami offers a range of soups and sandwiches as well as several seafood entrees. Dinner options include small plates such as crawfish cakes and duck breast. Entrees include seared sea scallops as well as hot and pungent shrimp in coconut milk. The restaurant's decor matches its food, with a clean contemporary feel.
