Attractions in Kingston, New York
Just 90 minutes north of New York City but with a turn-of-the-century feel all its own, Kingston is part of Ulster County and lies along the Hudson River. The city boasts a vibrant artist community, and located within a mix of authentic and faux-front pre-revolutionary buildings are galleries, antique stores, cafes and vibrant entertainment venues.

In the warmer months, the Hudson River tempts with opportunities to kayak, fish, windsurf and view wildlife.

Shawangunk Wine Trail

The Hudson River Valley is one of the oldest wine-making regions in the United States, established long before those in California, and there are 14 wineries in Ulster County. The Shawangunk Wine Trail is a collaborative effort on behalf of 11 of those wineries, and each offer tastings, tours, vineyard explorations and special events throughout the year. A map of the wine-tasting trail is located on the association's website, and visitors can follow the self-guided trail as their time and taste buds allow.
