Restaurants in Bandera, Texas
Nicknamed "Cowboy Capital of the World," visitors to Bandera won't be surprised to see that this section of Texas' Hill Country is composed mostly of working and recreational "dude" ranches for those wanting to improve their ridin' and ropin' skills.

A different kind of riding--via mountain bike--or hiking is available on 40 miles of trails in the nearby Hill Country State Natural Area. The 5,300-acre park also contains everything from swimming holes to streams that house catfish and bass. Those whose fishing poles don't score dinner can enjoy a variety of restaurants in town.

Texaritas Mesquite Grill Steakhouse

Located in the center of town and in the Old Texas Square Hotel, the Texaritas Mesquite Grill Steakhouse lives up to its name by focusing on angus beef grilled over mesquite coals. Besides steak, the restaurant also offers Tex-Mex entrees plus down-home, country-style choices like chicken-fried steak, fried chicken and more. Dining, weather permitting, is both outside and indoors. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 8 p.m.
