The Pacific city of Granada is located about 25 miles from Managua and is situated on the banks of Lake Nicaragua and Lake Cocibolca. It is n highly touristic, picturesque colonial city with a growing expat community. Aside from the city's many important historic sites, the city of Granada makes an excellent base from which to explore the many ecological and adventure opportunities in the Granada area. The Apoyo Volcanic Lagoon, the Volcan Momacho Natural Reserve, the Archipelago de las Isletas and the Zapatera National Park are all easily accessible from the city of Granada. In addition, travelers can enjoy fishing and water sports on Lake Nicaragua, Lake Cocibolca and the Pacific Ocean.
