Jackson, New Jersey, is a small town in the central area of the state. There are not many lodging options in the town of Jackson, but there are many within close proximity. The Jackson area is about 30 minutes from the beaches of Seaside Heights and Point Pleasant, where you can hike along the Atlantic coast beaches, hop into a sea kayak and explore the shoreline, or look for birds and wildlife in the marshes. Island Beach State Park is only a little more than a half-hour drive from the Jackson area. At the park you can surf fish along the 10 miles of beaches or explore the sand dunes and salt water marshes. If you need a break from the great outdoors, then the bustle of New York City is about an hour away.
