Theme Room Hotels in Ohio

Theme Room Hotels in Ohio
Trek through the Midwest streets of Ohio and you're bound to run into some bland options, but you don't have to. Spice up your travels with a themed hotel room and feel like you've stepped into another time or place.

Halloauer House

On your trek through northern Ohio, visit Oberlin's Halloauer House and experience America's living history. The house, built in 1830, is speculated to be a part of the Underground Railroad, which provided refuge and escape for runaway slaves. Halloauer House owners suggest the basement's hidden dirt floor and a pine board floor plug give it some Civil War credibility. Whether the house was part of the Underground Railroad is a point of contention, but even if it wasn't, the enormous white house has been converted into a warm bed and breakfast containing three luxurious rooms with a historical flair. Rooms include the era's furnishings as well as historical books.
Just because you're staying in a Civil War era house doesn't mean you have to give up modern pleasures. Each room is equipped with a bathroom, mini refrigerator, satellite television, hairdryer and alarm. Wi-Fi is also available.
Outside your room, take advantage of the home's swimming pool and take a stroll through the estate's lush, green garden.

Lighthouse Point

Cedar Point is one of the largest tourist attractions in the state and has been named the "Best Amusement Park in the World" by Amusement Today 11 times since 1998. Odds are, you won't want to leave the famous peninsula the park is on.
Lighthouse Point, one of the park's five on-site resorts, offers a Nantucket-style version of community cottage living without the hefty price tag. Plus, it's just steps from some of the world's most widely acclaimed roller coasters. Lighthouse Point offers two options--cabins and cottages. Each cabin is an inland one-story unit that can hold up to eight people. A mini refrigerator, private patio, picnic table and grill are all included in the price. Cottages, on the other hand, are more quaint, holding up to six guests with one bunk bed, double bed and sofa. The resort also features community activities. A game room, shuffleboard court, pool and whirlpool spa are open to all Lighthouse Point guests.
