Montgomery County was named after a Revolutionary War general of the same name. It has a population of just under 50,000 people. The Erie Canal and the Mohawk River run through its territory. With this in mind, it's easy to see why outoor enthusiasts are attracted to here. If you find yourself worn out from a busy day of camping or hiking, try some of the restaurants in the county.

Crystal Ristorante

Owners Tony and Carol Centi have been serving the people of Montgomery county since the 1950s.
They remodeled the dining room in 1980s as their fame spread throughout the region. Their pizza is legendary as is their American-Italian fusion style of preparing food. You can come here for a quick bite or sample their wine list and the chef's specialties if you are in need of a more elegant dining affair. Their famous pizza has a thin crust and white marinara sauce. Another favorite is the seafood stuffed haddock, which has baby gulf shrimp and artichokes. They also do banquets if you happen to be looking for a location for a special event or ocassion.

Raindancer Steak Parlour

You can find the Raindancer Steak Parlour just off of Route 30 in Montgomery County. Hillary Clinton dined here in 1999 while she was campaigning for the Senate. The steakhouse has a cozy atmosphere with minimal lighting and a wood panel floor. This is the place to go if you have a big appetitite. The specialties here offer combos of your favorite types of beef matched with seafood cuisine. Some of the favorites include the salmon and filet mignon and the Alaskan king crab with prime rib. There is also a soup and salad bar with unlimited trips.

The Village Restaurant

The Village Restaurant is a family-run-and-owned restaurant that specializes in American cuisine. While known for their breakfast menu, it also serves lunch and dinner. The omelets here are as massive as they are delicious. For dinner, its homemade meatloaf is a guest favorite as is the roast beef. All desserts here are made from scratch, so if you happen to save enough room from the main course, sample their sweets menu. The prices here are quite reasonable considering the quality of the food that is served.
