Located right off Interstate 90 in Post Falls, GW Hunters is known as North Idaho's home for wild game. The walls are covered with mounted stuffed raccoon, skunk, sheep and elk and the decor is full of rustic charm. The menu includes such items as yak burgers, duck tenderloin, fried alligator and elk steak. Breakfasts are hearty (doggy bags are expected) and the biscuits and gravy with elk sausage is a specialty. You may want to note that the restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesdays and there can be a wait at breakfast and dinner.

Located on top of the five star Coeur d'Alene Resort, Beverly's is one of North Idaho's top fine dining establishments. The dining room features a stunning view of Lake Coeur d'Alene and imaginative cuisine. Home of the University of Idaho, Moscow is the quintessential college town and boasts a number of eclectic eateries. North Idaho College Wild Game Feast
Those visiting North Idaho in January will want to save the date for Coeur d'Alene's North Idaho College "Wild Game Feast." College chefs create a five course meal of wild game delicacies accompanied by local wines. Past dinners have included Swedish-style Buffalo Meatballs and Roasted Quail. The annual dinner is a "must" for locals. Funds raised support the North Idaho College Foundation and scholarships for students.
