Cochem is in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of central Germany, where you can see the scenic Mosel River. Cochem is also the center of the Mosel wine trade and is known for its vineyards, making wine tasting its most popular activity in September and October. The famous landmark of Cochem is a 1,000-year-old castle. Travelers can hike, walk, play golf and take boat tours around the area.

Alte Thorschenke

Alte Thorschenke is one of the oldest and most well-known establishments in Cochem. The building that houses this hotel and wine restaurant was built in 1332. Alte Thorschenke became a hotel in 1960. Besides the usual elevator, you can reach the rooms with the centuries-old cantilevered wooden staircase. Hotels rates include breakfast. The rooms have historical furnishings and some of the beds even have a canopy. Amenities include tub/shower combinations for each room, laundry service and an automatic wake-up call. Drop by the Weinstube and the Rieslingstube, two restaurants in the lobby of Alte Thorschenke. The restaurants feature wooden and antique decorations and an overall rustic design.

Hotel Germania

Located in the heart of Cochem and on the right side of Mosel River, Hotel Germania is where you can find one of the finest wines in the world. The wines are available either at the hotel's own vineyard or at the wine tavern. The hotel amenities include an en-suite water closet, television set, shower room and an in-room refreshments bar.
