If you are an avid mountain and rock climber, Spruce Knob, West Virginia is an exciting location to explore. It is the tallest peak in the state at 4,863 feet. Spruce Knob is the summit of Spruce Mountain and is located within the Monongahela National Forest. Nearby is Seneca Rocks, which offer many challenging routes for rock climbers. It is a focal point for many other recreational activities such as hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and kayaking. When visiting, there are many log cabins to choose from such as Harman's North Fork, Yokum's Vacationland and North Mountain Cabins.

West Virginia Log Cabins- Harman's North Fork

Harman's North Fork Cabins is a family operated business that offer cabin rentals year-round. The cabins are located near Seneca Rocks and Smoke Hole Caverns in Spruce Knob. Each cabin is fully furnished with fireplace, TV, DVD player, fully appointed kitchens, dish washer, linens and towels. Other amenities include private hot tub, gas fireplace, whirlpool, Internet access and air conditioning. Cabin 19 - Pet Haven - welcomes pets. This retreat has a mile of privately stocked trophy trout stream on the North Fork River. Other activities include hiking, biking, volleyball and hunting.

Yokum's Vacationland

This is a very convenient option as Yokum's Vacationland is located right in the Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area and Monongahela National Forest. The cabins are on a 1,000-acre farm where cattle are raised. The North Fork of the Potomac River flows through the farm which offers the guests year-round trout and bass fishing. Yokum's also has a restaurant, a heated indoor pool, fireplace, juke box and basketball court. Other activities include whitewater rafting, canoeing, rock climbing the 960-ft high Seneca Rocks, bow and firearm hunting, hiking and horseback riding. You can also go camping at the riverside campground.

North Mountain WV Cabin Rentals

North Mountain WV Cabin Rentals offers three cabins named the White Oak, the Overlook and the Guesthouse. It is located near the Seneca Rocks Recreation Area where you can choose to either climb or ride trails on horseback. There are many other activities such as hiking, fishing, mountain biking, kayaking, cross-country skiing, canoeing and hunting. Other area attractions include Smoke Hole Caverns, Seneca Caverns, Dolly Sods, Canaan Valley and Blackwater Falls.
