Donauschwaben German-American Cultural Center

The Donauschwaben German-American Cultural Center is located a few minutes outside of downtown Cleveland in Olmsted Township. This suburb was first settled in 1814 and is rich in history. The Donauschwaben cultural center hosts a variety of events through out the year, including the Landestrachtenfest, the Kirchweihfest, Schwabenball and Oktoberfest. They also run one of Cleveland's most popular German restaurants.

The restaurant at Donauschwaben features traditional German fare, like Sauerbraten, Wienerschnitzel and Spatzle. "Lunch at Lenau Park" is served at very reasonable prices Tuesday to Friday and Sunday. Remember to bring cash; this restaurant does not accept credit cards.

Der Braumeister

Der Braumeister on Cleveland's West Side features and authentic German restaurant, delicatessen and bier haus. They offer more than 140 imported beers and a large wine selection. The award-winning restaurant also hosts a large Oktoberfest celebration each September.

Der Braumeister serves traditional German favorites with a modern twist, such as the potato pancake reuben or beer tenderloin. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner year-round. Dishes are moderately priced.

Das Schnitzel Haus

Das Schnitzel Haus is a family-owned restaurant located in Cleveland's Parma suburb. They boast Cleveland's first-covered beer garden with a fireplace.

Their menu includes German dishes and other international fare. All food is homemade and available for lunch or dinner seven days each week. A lunch buffet is available weekdays. Meal prices are fair to moderate.
