Jonathan at Gratz Park

Named for chef Jonathan Lundy, this fine dining restaurant is located in historic downtown Lexington, next to the boutique hotel Gratz Park Inn. The menu is a gourmet twist on local Southern cuisine. In fact, most of the meat is raised on nearby farms and produce locally grown. Apples used are from the chef's backyard. Jonathan's offers an extensive wine list by the bottle or glass.

The atmosphere is charming and intimate, perfect for a romantic evening or special occasion. Wedding receptions and other special events can be arranged in conjunction with the Gratz Park Inn. There also is a select banquet menu, complete with hor d'oeuvres. Gift certificates may be purchased and reservations can be made online. Brunch is available on Sundays.

A La Lucie

Situated in downtown Lexington, this small, brightly colored restaurant is a favorite with the locals. Just look for the leopard print awning out front. With green walls and pink napkins, this eccentric, yet trendy spot gives guests a unique dining experience. The cuisine is French fusion. Highlights include bouillabaisse, lamb shanks and the bourbon tabasco pork chops. There is a wide selection of wine.

There is an outdoor patio. Patrons who want to enjoy a quiet meal should plan on visiting during the week, as the weekends will get crowded and noisy. A La Lucie is open for lunch during the week and dinner every night except Sunday.
