Clayton is a small town in Pushmataha County in the southeastern corner of Oklahoma. It is the home of Flagpole Mountain, which features a fire tower that offers panoramic views of the Kiamichi River Valley. Clayton also offers easy access to Clayton Lake State Park and a variety of fishing, hunting and hiking opportunities. Several reasonably priced hotels are located in and around Clayton.

Clayton Country Inn

The Clayton Country Inn consists of nine guest rooms in the main house and a duplex cottage that offers two apartments with kitchens and fireplaces. The common room in the main house features a log-beam ceiling, a stone fireplace, and beautiful mountain views. The Clayton Country Inn also offers a small, on-site restaurant with a menu heavy on meat and potatoes. Rates vary, but expect to spend less than $100 a night.

Hickory Ridge Guest Cabins

Hickory Ridge is located just outside Clayton, and offers private cabins with full kitchens. If you enjoy fishing, the property has two ponds stocked with bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill and perch. The cabins provde easy access to numerous trails and are located just a few miles from Sardis Lake. Expect to spend around $50 a night.

Sardis Lake Cabins

Sardis Lake Cabins is a small, waterfront facility that offers four hotel rooms, two cabins, and five RV hookups for rent. Sardis Lake is known for excellent bass fishing. Rooms are clean and comfortable and offer DirectTV with premium movie channels. The cabins are pet-friendly, which is perfect if you like to hit the trails or hunt with your pooch. Sardis Lake Cabins does not accept credit cards, so make sure you have cash or a check. Expect to spend around $70 a night.
