Golf Courses and Boston Harbor Island State Park

South Shore Country Club offers a challenging 18 hole course for beginners and experienced golfers. The course was designed by a golf architect Wayne Stiles. That is what gives the course its unique design. Open to the public the club offers golf lessons for individual and groups of adults and children. Girl's Night Out offers special lessons for women on Wednesday nights. It is located in Hingham, MA.

Boston Harbor Island State Park is a 17 island state park located in the Boston area. It offers visitors a wide variety of active outdoor activities like hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, and camping. There is a ferry service available to get your car over to the park if needed. Free water taxis take visitors to the different islands that are part of the park. There are educational tours on most of the islands, and Webb Memorial State Park is part of this group of sites to see.

Whitney and Thayer Woods and Weir Farm

Whitney and Thayer Woods located at Cohasset and Hingham is a diverse 10 mile hiking trail for adults and children. Enjoy seeing hardwood forests and open fields on the ten mile hike and a wild garden. Across the street families can visit Weir Farm. There is the American holly grove for more experienced hikers to walk to. The walking takes about two to three hours especially if you visit Weir Farm. It is open year round to visitors. Admission is free donations are welcome.

Weir River Farm is located near Whitney and Thayer Woods many tourists visit both sites when taking the hike. The farm is located in Hingham, MA. The farm supports some diverse wildlife habitats like grasslands and woods. Children and adults can enjoy chickens, sheep, horses and farm animals in their natural environment.
