Los Cardones Surf Lodge
This surf destination claims to be "a true Nicaraguan experience." There are four surf points of Los Cardones and each varies in skill level for surfers. Hemmes and Chiggas are for experts, while Rancho's and Asuchillo are for the smaller-thrill seekers. Los Cardones offers a multitude of long, short and fun surfboard rentals, and all prices range from $10 to $20 for half- or full-day rentals. Each of the six bungalows has a private terrace with hammocks, shower and sink with compost toilets in walking distance. Surfers can truly get back to nature without the distractions of electricity to hinder them.

Two Brothers Surf Resort
Two Brothers has a wealth of luxurious accommodations to match its selection of surf gear. Each of the four self-catering villas is authentically laden with Nicaraguan crafts and is equipped with full kitchen and air conditioning. This resort offers a selection of 25 boards that all come with new leashes, nose guards, fins, day bag and wax. Surfers can choose from boogie, short, fun and long boards, outer reef guns, and a stand-up paddle board. All boards with the exception of the outer reefs and stand up are available for weekly rentals. This variety is said to be "the newest and largest selection" in the Popoyo beach area.

Popoyo Surf Lodge
Ninety minutes from the nightlife of San Juan del Sur lies the mellow hospitality of expatriate Floridian surfer J.J. Yemma and his family. Guests are welcomed to feast on three meals a day, as well as a serving of several surfing locations, which offer different waves breaks for any appetite.
