Bus Tours From Bucharest to Transylvania

Bus Tours From Bucharest to Transylvania
Romania may not be the first country you think of when you think of outdoor recreation, but this country has excellent skiing, hiking and mountain biking, among other options. Much of Romania's best recreation is in the Transylvania region, legendary home of Dracula. Most flights to Romania, however, land in the capital Bucharest. Unless you're confident of your ability to dodge horse carts on narrow roads, you might consider one of the bus tours below as a way to get from Bucharest to Transylvania.

Delta Travel: Transylvania Tour

Your eight-day tour begins in Bucharest, where you board your bus for Sibiu. That evening you'll take a walking tour of the city's churches and architecture. In the next week, you'll visit the Brukental Museum, monasteries and churches in the medieval town of Sighisoara, reputed to be the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler. At the end of the week you'll visit the well-preserved Bran Castle, whose associations with Vlad are more legend than history. After a morning trip to a medieval Saxon fortress, you'll return to Bucharest. The tour cost includes accommodation in three-star (or best available) hotels, half board and a tour guide.
