Whether you're in the middle of your week-long bike trip or your monthly camping excursion, try something different that isn't too far from San Francisco.

Wine Country Tour Shuttle

If you want something relaxing, try the Wine Country Tour Shuttle. This tour lasts all day and begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Ferry Station. Here, you will be picked up by shuttle and travel over the Golden Gate Bridge to wine country while a well-versed tour guide gives you a quick course about wine.

You will then visit two wineries and can partake in the wine tasting. At the second winery, lunch will be served. After lunch, you will travel to three more wineries and then board a ferry in Vallejo. This 45-minute ride over the bay will allow you to take in spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge before dropping you off at Ferry Landing at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Tickets for the tour are $95, as of November 2009. This includes the price of the shuttle, bus and your picnic lunch. Prices for wine tasting run about $5 to $10 at each winery. Refer to the company's website for additional information or changes in ticket prices.

The company ensures a tour guide who is well-informed and entertaining. You then will travel to three more wineries on your excursion. After your wine tasting has come to an end, the Jeep will drop you off at your hotel after a day out in the valley.

The price per person is $145.95, as of November 2009, with a requirement of two people in your party. You can also secure a private Jeep tour for one to five people for $505.95.
