Restaurants With Easter Brunch in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Restaurants With Easter Brunch in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Milwaukee may be a large urban center, but it still offers ample opportunities for outdoor recreation. Its many parks have trails for hiking and biking, and wintertime brings snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Nearby Lake Michigan is a great spot for summertime fishing and boating--or even wintertime ice fishing for cold-weather enthusiasts.

Should you find yourself in the Milwaukee area over the Easter holiday, it may be a little late in the season for ice fishing, but you can always celebrate the holiday by going out for brunch. While numerous Easter brunches are offered by local restaurants and hotels, be sure to phone ahead for a reservation, preferably several weeks in advance.

Astor Street

The Astor Hotel in downtown Milwaukee dates from 1920 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its old-world elegance extends to the restaurant, which is popularly known as Astor Street. The brunch menu is known for its omelet bar, where you can choose your own meats (ham, turkey Canadian bacon and lardons) and vegetables (onions, peppers, tomatoes, onions and spinach). The Easter buffet also includes specialties such as roast lamb and smoked whitefish and an extensive dessert selection sure to tempt, although fresh fruit also is available for the health-conscious.

Metro Bar & Café

The Metro Bar and Cafe is located in Milwaukee's Hotel Metro, a European-style boutique hotel that was Milwaukee's first to be green-certified. As befits such an eco-friendly hotel, the brunch does feature a number of healthy options, including a house-made granola with oats, honey, nuts and dried fruits as well as organic chicken and salmon. More indulgent guests may enjoy the challah French toast, roast beef and lamb, honey-glazed ham and numerous cookies, pies and cakes without which the Metro's Easter champagne brunch wouldn't be complete.
